Hover Effect UX

Most designs have hover effects as an independent behavior to the hovered upon item – highlight, color, size. Few designs play it better – by making rest of the interface too react to a particular hover, in the opposite direction, by being more subdued than their normal states. Hence, the hovered item is far more in focus and the effect becomes awesome and more user-friendly.
