Medium Allows Contextual Comments

Comments on a Blog

Have you ever felt discouraged putting your comments on a blog article, because you would have to point to specific portions of the blog for your comments to make sense? Yes, it’s a lot of work and the comments are unnecessarily fatter because of the context you have to set for the author and other readers.

See what Medium has done.

This site allows you to “select” or “highlight” a word or phrase or paragraph and add comments specific to the highlighted text. Your comments get attached to that section, and not to the “end of the page.” The author and other readers would then read your comments while encountering that particular text in the page. The contextual execution is smart and user-friendly. Also, you can tweet the particular selection with 1-click.
