“Put your tray tables in upright position and locked.”

All air-travelers hear this every time they travel. For a non-hungry person, using the table tray only for his beverage is kind of painful. I have been in this situation many a times when I just want to have a drink and take a nap on the flight. So, my tray table is down with my beverage glass empty. And I have to almost stay awake during my nap to give the glass back to the staff in order to pull up the tray table and hibernate!

If only…I think…

Jet Airways have done it. A simple usability touch. They have provided a folding beverage holder slot behind every tray table. For beverage drinkers, no more turning down the tray table; just pull down the slot and there goes your glass. Easy even when the front passenger reclines!

I’ve always found this to be severely lacking in all planes. Nice find!

I agree Kyle. Even in Jet Airways, it’s not present in all of their aircrafts…but growing I guess. Thanks for reading in.
